We are currently recruiting for the position of:

Senior Actuarial Analyst

Work location: Bratislava or Košice

Your tasks will include:
Pricing and Business Planning
Participation in development, recalibration and documentation of actuarial pricing models in line with agreed Group plan.
Performance monitoring of existing products.
Automation of existing actuarial reporting tools and creation of new ones using analytical tools (e.g. Power BI, R, Python)
Detailed segmentation analysis on relevant classes to identify areas of outperformance/underperformance and help inform underwriting decisions.
Providing actuarial support for the business plans.

Reserving
To undertake the quarterly reserving study for the branches using appropriate actuarial techniques to calculate the best estimate of reserves.
Identify classes for targeted review, focusing on the key areas and ensuring an appropriate level of involvement and an input from all key stakeholders. To present an outcome of the review to senior management as required.

Capital
Participation in the process of calculating the capital requirement (SCR) based on Solvency II in line with agreed timetable.
Leading of specific areas of SCR calculation as required.

Group
To provide contribution to Group wide projects relating to pricing, reserving or capital and any strategic initiatives (as required).

Our expectations:
• Obtained a numerate master’s degree (actuarial science or related subject of study)
• 2+ years relevant insurance market experience.
• Advanced level of MS Excel and VBA.
• Good knowledge of R (and/or Python), SQL and Power BI is an advantage.
• Knowledge of IFRS (especially IFRS 17) is an advantage
• Ability to communicate with both the local and the international branches.
• Fluent in English.
• Actuarial knowledge and working towards becoming a qualified Actuary.
• Ability to effectively manage own time to deliver individual and group wide objectives.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Actuarial Function and across other internal departments in the international environment.

Who we're looking for
Our growing actuarial team is looking for new colleagues to its regional team.

Required professional background and skills:
• University degree in actuarial science, quantitative finance / mathematics, economics or related field (similar position for undergraduate students is also available)
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Creativity and analytical thinking, ability to solve complex problems
• Technical experience in, and understanding of, the business, financial reporting and portfolio valuations
• Be an expert in the modelling and financial reporting of the business; combining detailed knowledge of the business and modelling - ensuring the delivery of technically accurate, robust and well explained results to another actuary but also to wider business management

Life Actuarial IFRS 17 Methodology Lead 80-100%, temporary until end of December 2022 in Corporate Center in Switzerland

Are you interested in defining and refining methodology for the implementation of IFRS 17 for Life insurance and assess its implication on Group results? As a Methodology lead you will work closely with global IFRS 17 project team as well as various Finance functions, including FAR, PPM, IT, IR and others to effectively implement IFRS 17 and embed it into business as usual. You will be supporting the local and group technical implementation of the new accounting Standards, support the local businesses in understanding it, providing guidance and training, and reviewing the implementation and the financial impact assessment. The role requires appropriate understanding of the actuarial IFRS 17 methodology to provide support on specific technical implementation with guidance, training and support for the Business Units across the Group. This is a project role for 2 years with the potential for a more permanent role at the end of the project, subject to business approval.
